Stornoway Black Pudding is a Scottish blood sausage. The sausages are produced in Stornoway, the capital of the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland.
There has been a campaign[1] to register the name with the Scottish regional government as a Protected Geographical Indication. By definition in the application for PGI, the product can contain only beef suet; oatmeal; onions; the blood of either sheep, cows, or pigs; water (only if dried blood is used); salt; pepper; and skins or casings. Specifically, no artificial colors or flavors, bulking agents, or preservatives are permitted.
